About me

Jeff is originally from the heart of the Rocky Mountains, where self-reliance and individual determination is a way of life, just like it is in Alaska. At a young age he served our country while on active duty in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman/surgical medic. For six years he worked in the surgical and post-surgical areas of Naval Hospitals in California, earning a Vocational Nursing license along the way. It was that interest in working with patients that led to his achieving a bachelor’s degree in Hospital Management and Health Care Administration, from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.

However, Jeff always knew he wanted to be an attorney and to help people. Graduating in the upper half of his class at the University of Wyoming, College of Law; Jeff then completed a highly competitive Masters in Law or L.L.M. in American Indian and Indigenous Persons Law from the University of Tulsa, College of Law. This was a very rich and rewarding experience that took him on a course that would not only take him permanently to Alaska but would also form his life work representing folks that often can’t get the legal help they need and deserve.

After completing his legal education Jeff spent many years representing the thirty-one federally recognized tribes and individual people throughout Bristol Bay working as General Counsel for the Bristol Bay Native Association. Later, he helped less fortunate people with their housing needs as Chief Counsel for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development in Anchorage.

Seeking to gain insight into the insurance world, Jeff began defending lawsuits filed against people insured through a large national auto insurance carrier. It was this experience that polished Jeff’s trial skills and litigation talents while gaining a valuable understanding of just how insurance companies can take advantage of injured people.

And so, it was a natural fit for Jeff to join James Crowson at the Crowson Law Group. Jeff’s medical and insurance background give this firm and their clients the competitive and professional skill necessary to help their clients. This is important because insurance companies want nothing more than to pay you or your doctors as little as possible.

Customer Reviews

Jeff was extremely helpful with my claim. He went above and beyond to get me the help I needed and the final payout we both felt was appropriate. I don’t plan on getting hit again, but in the event that I do, I will definitely be going back. Thank you again so very much Jeff. A load of stress has been taken off my shoulders.

This was my first experience in needing an attorney to deal with an auto insurance company. I first met with Attorney Crowson. The second appointment was with Attorney Vance who had been assigned to my case. After he introduced himself telling me of his qualifications and some experiences, we further discussed my reasoning for seeking an attorney. As we talked, it became apparent I would need representation on two cases, not just the one I came in with. He explained everything to me and made sure I understood and was comfortable with the necessary procedures to get case 1 settled. Throughout case 1 and during his consultations, Attorney Vance allowed me free reign to ask questions on anything I read and did not understand. He never made me feel uneducated for asking them. He gave me ample time and made sure I did not feel pressured in making decisions. The case was settled satisfactorily. We are currently working on case 2 because I value his expertise, experience and advice.

Mr. Vance is a true professional. His background in the medical and insurance claims fields proved to be very helpful in guiding us through our claim process. His knowledge and demeanor helped us resolve the claim, resulting in a favorable settlement. He is very personable, realistic, and easy to work with. His honesty, integrity, and professionalism is comforting especially when faced with a difficult situation involving personal injury and lawyers. Should your needs require a lawyer, I highly recommend Mr. Vance.

I am very impressed and satisfied with Crowson Law Group. Mr. Crowson took my case after our original interview. I was pleased with the sincerity that Mr. Crowson gave me. During the case, Mr. Vance took over after coming onboard with Crowson Law Group. Again, I was very impressed with how Mr. Vance worked with me. He is very knowledgeable and made sure I understood what was going on. His team is very good at what they do. I haven’t been surprised or disappointed with anything they have done. Mr. Vance has made my situation as pleasant as possible. I would highly recommend Crowson Law Group and Mr. Vance as your attorney. I definitely will use them again if in need to.
