Customer Reviews

Sonya handled estate planning for my wife and me. She is knowledgeable, efficient and (you read this right) fun. An attorney who is fun. Imagine that. Highly recommend Sonya.

We hired Sonya to review and update our estate documents. We already had an existing plan, but it was drawn up in another state and we had since had several more children. She reviewed our existing plan and made some very insightful recommendations. It was very clear very quickly that she is very well versed in all aspects of estate law. She is very kind and fun to work with as well. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to develop or update their estate plan.

My husband and I were in search of a lawyer to help us with estate planning and were very lucky to have found Sonya. She was extremely personable and very thorough during our consultation. Throughout the process, she was always quick to respond to any questions we had and made the task of preparing our estate less daunting. I would recommend Sonya to anyone looking for a good, affordable lawyer to provide them with estate planning help.

Sonya made my estate planing very easy and less intimating for me. She was able to explain the entire process and answer all my questions that i had. She was great to work with and I would highly recommend her to all of my friends and relatives.

Sonya’s approach is refreshing. She is extremely knowledgeable an is able to distill complex legal situations into layman’s terms. She truly assesses your unique situation to find what’s right for you instead of trying to push a one-size-fits-all solution like other lawyers. The bottom line is that my wife and I left feeling better informed and confident our situation was addressed.

Sonya is a neighbor of ours, so we’ve known her in that context; that gave us the confidence to ask her to help us with our estate planning. A person might normally be reluctant to mix business with a social relationship, so the fact that we weren’t says something about our opinion of Sonya from the outset. We were not disappointed. Sonya was excellent at explaining legal issues and terminology, as well as updating us on the changes in estate tax laws (it had been many years since we’d looked at our wills). She even drew flowcharts and gave written hypothetical examples–both of which were very helpful for us–without making us feel like schoolchildren. She occupies the generation between us and that of our young adult children, and she’s a wife and mother, so she had a perspective on family issues that we really appreciated. Finally, when she didn’t know the answer to a question, which was infrequent, she was forthright about it–then she researched the issue and got back to us very quickly. As with any estate plan, there were some personal decisions to be made; she gave us guidance as far as options and their potential consequences that we felt was thorough as well as completely impartial. In other words, she was a professional–also warm and approachable. We’ve subsequently recommended her to a friend who also gave her glowing reviews. When an attorney can make estate planning a positive experience, that says something.

She listened carefully to our desiderata what we wanted and produced a legal document that was exactly suitable to us. She was completely responsible and dealt with all details in a timely manner. We would turn to her again if need arises and would happily recommend her to others.

Sonya did a will for us and she did a perfect job. She is delightful to work with and it was prepared when she said it would be. Highly recommend her.
